It is only fair that I write an article about my home country of Malta, and this year is going to be a hub of events and activities since it is the European Capital of culture for 2018. The opening activities where held between the 14th and 20th of January. Valletta is Malta’s capital built on a small peninsula which is only 1km by 600m. it may be small but it is packed full of sights, when UNESCO named Valletta a world heritage site, it described it as ‘one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world.
It was built in the 16th century by the Knights of St. John and Grand Master La Valette who is it’s founder wanted it to be ‘a city built by gentlemen for gentlemen’. If you are doing a quick tour of Prague you might want to eat on the run instead of sitting down to a meal at a restaurant, which will easily swallow an hour or two of your day. If you’re in a hurry or on a budget, try these street food options while on the way to Prague castle or exploring the old town.
Street food in Prague may not appeal to everyone but it is available if in need of a quick snack or lunch on the go. Throughout the city you can find various stalls, stands and vendors selling delicious Czech foods. Although some of the best street food in Prague is seasonal and only sold at the Christmas and Easter markets during the holidays, you can still find good street food all year round. These are the top items that you should definitely try while on your visit to Prague. Currently the capital of the Czech Republic, and previously being the historical capital of Bohemia, it is certain that Prague has quite a lot to offer when it comes to history, art and culture. Getting around the city is very easy by making use of the metro, trams and buses which connect the city very well. Although most of the main attractions of the city are in the city’s old town where everything is within walking distance.
Vienna, a city of culture and music. Baroque streets and imperial palaces set the stage for one of the most beautiful city’s I’ve visited in Europe. The surreal streets which seem to be on exhibition all year round, turning at every corner and finding a building more illustrious then the previous one. The city is just marvelous, I cannot find any words to describe it any better.
Rome, a mixture of old and new, the streets are easy to walk though, full of surprises and wonderful monuments. Wondering through the streets of Rome reminds me of the ancient roman empire. Walking past the breathtaking structures and monuments of Rome really quenches anyone’s thirst for knowledge and history.
