Develop yourself this Christmas

Whatever it is you want to accomplish or achieve, stop waiting for someone else to pick you up and take your hand. Instead pick yourself. Grab that idea you’ve got in there and take that step.

During Christmas time one thing is prominently on my mind. Most of us are so lucky to be living in the lifestyle we are currently in. It’s a first world problem to worry about Christmas decorations, Christmas presents. There are others around us who have much deeper worries. And yes, not necessarily on some other part of the world, they might be living in your street. So, as you are enjoying today and the rest of the holiday period, just keep these people in mind and this fact to empower you to keep moving forward and scale up to your dreams.

There are may ways you can do this, naturally its up to the individual’s personality to choose what he or she wants to do. But here are a few examples;
1. Learn how to Learn
Develop yourself through education and learning. The learning process is a meta-skill. It’s about acquiring an approach to learning that will allow you to learn any skill that your trying to master better and faster. You may state that you cannot find the correct course for you. Stop. Instead of wasting time waiting for people working in school and collage administrations, create your own curriculum. Learn what you need from books, online seminars, videos, websites and courses. The internet is all around us. There is no information we need that isn’t readily available after a few button clicks.
2. Volunteer
True happiness comes from the act of giving and doing for others. There is no way one can explain the feeling he feels when helping others, seeing the smiles of others. Volunteer organizations always need help. It’s important to find something that is close to your heart, and give a little back through your time. It doesn’t need to be physical help, there are a lot of ways one can help someone else. Where I live people have created a website where orphaned kids write their Christmas wishes and people can pledge to make these wishes come true. Maybe implementing this in your town, or area would be a good idea.
3. Master a game
Mastering a game such as chess, teaches you strategy, it teaches you to compete, and it teaches you flexibility and adaptability. In addition, you learn to master your emotions. Playing chess against a worthy opponent can be mental torture. Also, it teaches you to lose, which is something that you need to know how to do, if you want to win.
4. Do something artistic
Making art is a form of self-expression, and it can even be healing. There are few things as rewarding and life affirming as creating something new with your own two hands.
5. Solve a problem
Most of us are all have things which bother us, but what do we usually do. Very rare is the instance where someone takes steps to solve an issue. I watch a television series called “Modern family”. In one episode Claire Dunphy who is a character in the show, is angry because there’s a sports car that keeps speeding through the sub—urban streets of her neighborhood.  Instead of just complaining about the speeding car, she takes action to solve the problem.  In a later episode, she succeeds in getting the local council to install a “Stop Sign” on her street. Is there a problem that you’re constantly complaining about? Stop complaining and start taking steps to solve it.

I would like to end by saying that every day you have brand new opportunity to be a better person. Take it. Live your best life by being a better person. Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year to you and all your loved ones.
